Young people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care about them. Every Young Life leader cares about going to where young people are, entering their world and knowing who they are, with the only goal of developing genuine and lasting friendships.
We like to think of it as a party with purpose. It's a unique atmosphere that is almost impossible to explain, but the young people know it and always feel welcome. And before the party is over, we share a simple message about God's love for them. After all, that's why we have the celebration.
Young people often tell us that Young Life camp is the best week of their lives. For us, it's a week where deep relationships are formed, accompanied by amazing fun, and where you experience and hear what we believe is the greatest love story ever told.
It is a weekly meeting for the kids who want to learn more or grow in their faith, with study, service and leadership. Young Life leaders also encourage these young people to celebrate their faith by participating in a local congregation.
Young Life is making a difference in the lives of young people around the world because we are supported by adults who care about young people in their communities. For every staff member in Young Life, there is a team of dedicated volunteer leaders who work directly with youth. In each community, the "committee" consists of parents, Young Life alumni and city leaders and provides a base of financial, administrative and spiritual support for the local Young Life team.
